AAA-C organised a professional development session titled Journey to PhD and Its Scholarship on the 22nd of October 2016 at Stanford American School in Phnom Penh. Roughly 60 participants, who mostly hold a master degree, attended this very insightful and useful half-day workshop. The workshop featured four honourable guest speakers who are PhD graduates from four different countries—Dr. Yi Siyan (PhD in International Health Sciences, University of Tokyo, Japan), Dr. Keo Omaliss (PhD in Conservation Biology University of East Anglia, UK), Dr. Nguon Pheakkdey (PhD in Geography, Clark University, US), and Dr. Ouch Chandarany (PhD in Economics, Monash University, Australia). Our guest speakers shared their personal experience and stories about their PhD pursuit and life as a PhD student by picking up different angles to help the participants reflect the whole picture of what it would be like to pursue a PhD degree.
